Kelly Racing launches bushfire fundraising campaign
Kelly Racing, in conjunction with its two major partners Castrol Racing and NED Whisky, today launches its campaign to support the victims of the terrible Australian bush fires which have taken lives, homes and destroyed countless townships around Australia. The team is aiming to raise significant and much-needed funds for victims of the bushfire crisis by auctioning off the first ever passenger hot laps in Kelly Racing Mustangs and two 2020 driver suits.
The team is holding an online auction for the first hot laps in both the Castrol Racing Mustang driven by Rick Kelly and the NED Racing Mustang piloted by André Heimgartner. These will take place at Round One of the 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship at the Adelaide 500 on Thursday 20 February.
Included in each auction will be General Admission entry to the Adelaide 500 event, Kelly Racing pit tour and merchandise pack.
The starting bid for the passenger hot laps is $700. Flights to the event and accommodation are not included in the auction and the winner will be required to make their own way to the event.
Further to this the team is auctioning the brand new 2020 race suits to be worn by Rick Kelly and André Heimgartner at the 2020 Adelaide 500 event thanks to suit supplier HRX. These will be signed by their respective driver with bidding starting at $1500.
The auctions will be held on the team's eBay shop, www.ebay.com.au/usr/kellyracingaus with 100% of the proceeds to be donated to charity.
Todd Kelly, Team Co-owner
"The Australian bushfires have been absolutely devastating and I can't even begin to imagine what the families impacted are going through right now. It's important that we as a team and as a sport do what we can to help those affected by supporting charities that are assisting those in need and helping communities recover and rebuild."
"We're auctioning off four great items in Rick and André's very first Mustang hot laps and race suits for the 2020 season, so I encourage everyone to get involved. Not only could you be involved in an important part of our team's history, you'll be helping provide assistance to Aussie families in need."
